The Orchestra presents a work that has been celebrated throughout its esteemed performance history, led by one of the Philharmonia’s greatest conductors.

Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony is a work of epic proportions, erupting in an ‘Ode to Joy’ choral finale. Before it, Schumann’s Piano Concerto is performed by the superlative pianist, Martin Helmchen.

Royal Festival Hall at 6pm. Pre-concert talk. David Whelton celebrates 70 years with a panel of distinguished guests. Free.
