A recital of folk songs and pastoral poetry set to music by 20th-Century composers from the British Isles including Britten, Vaughan Williams, Warlock, Stanford, Quilter and Gurney.

These wonderful texts explore everything from nature’s lessons about life, love and death to the pragmatic side of hard work on the land, wooing fair maidens and social climbing by whatever means.
